Professional Cleaning Standards with BICSc Membership

Professional Cleaning Standards

We guarantee all our our customers receive high standards. Maintaining that professional level of cleaning was the very first objective agreed by the full Clean Care Scotland Management Board. That is still the prime concern of all our managers and supervisors.

Of course we have our own very detailed inspection with Professional Area Managers/Supervisors making unannounced inspection visits whilst our staff are still present. This helps us to spot any cleaning issues (usually before you do) and take any corrective action necessary.

In addition we want to meet up with customers on a regular basis to ensure that you are happy with the professional standards being provided. It is during these visits we can also be made aware of any temporary (or long term changes) to the cleaning requirements that may be necessary.

For example this could be a special open day or visitors and you want everything to be not just clean but sparkling as well. Maybe you are having some alterations or maintenance done and there will be more mess due to the builders work. Knowing this in advance means we can plan ahead and adapt easier.

But to clean to this level of professional cleaning standards we need to invest in our staff. For example we have brought in the training standards set out by our professional body British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) . These standards act as the foundation stones for our own professional cleaning standards.

BICSc and Professional Cleaning Standards

BICSc is an independent body established in 1961 with professional members from all areas of our industry.

  • local authorities.
  • professional commercial cleaners (like ourselves).
  • educational establishments.
  • manufacturers.
  • product suppliers.
  • plus professional trainers.

The Institute’s Committees set the standards and develop skills programmes with examinations. These professional cleaning standards cover the full range of workplace-based certified assessment schemes. This includes professional exams for our cleaners, food premises, cleaning supervisors, healthcare and sanitary cleaning.

If Clean Care Scotland do not continue to meet these professional cleaning standards in full as an accredited training body our membership will not be renewed and lapse. You will be able to check our corporate membership is still current by clicking on the verification badge below.

We have also achieved professional membership awards with other quality cleaning standards including the National Carpet Care Association and Institute for Inspection Cleaning Restoration. In addition we have both ISO 9001 for quality standards and ISO 14001 for environmental issues.
